About Silver Serum, 1985

Silver Serum is a color-shifting borosilicate glass that moves from champagne yellow in natural light to soft pink under compact fluorescent light (CFL).

Built on the foundation of Serum, it adds a touch of silver for increased depth and the ability to develop soft, fumey effects depending on flame atmosphere.

Responsive in the flame, it allows artists to push the color toward more variation and complexity, creating layered, atmospheric finishes in lampworking applications.

Working Tip: Work in a neutral flame and use a slightly reducing flame to bring the silver effects to the surface.  You can also try running this color through multiple kiln cycles to activate the silver.
